KBS 2017 - 43rd Annual Symposium of the Kettil Bruun Society

Monday, 05 June 2017,  8:00
To Friday, 09 June 2017

The 43rd annual symposium of the Kettil Bruun Society is hosted by the School of Health and Related Research (ScHARR) at the University of Sheffield.

For information about the Kettil Bruun Society, the Symposium, and to register, submit abstracts and book social tours, see the link below.

The Kettil Bruun Society's aims are to investigate social, epidemiological and cross-cultural research on alcohol use, to promote the exchange of scientific knowledge and experiences among researchers from various disciplines, and to encourage international collaboration. The annual symposium´s primary purpose is to provide a forum for researchers to exchange ideas about their ongoing research. The scope includes studies of determinants and consequences of drinking, consumption trends, drinking culture and drinking patterns, drinking & other health behaviours, theoretical and methodological debates, political, social and institutional responses to alcohol-related harms as well as prevention and care for persons with alcohol problems.

The Symposium focuses on discussion of pre-circulated papers reporting ongoing, as yet unpublished work and is popular as a way to get early input or "live peer review" ahead of submitting a paper. Researchers are invited to submit informative abstracts by January 20, 2017. See http://www.kbs2017sheffield.co.uk/ for full details.
